Co-operation program 2+2 between Duy Tan University and App State University

 

A signing ceremony for the 2+2 partnership program between Appalachian State University (ASU) and DTU was held on the morning of February 9th, 2012.

 
This new program was the next step in DTU’s plan to expand its relationships with overseas universities. The previous program “Transfer Programs” will be renamed “Studying Aboard for International Degrees”.

Under this agreement, eligible students who have completed two years at DTU will complete their Bachelor degrees at Appalachian. On arrival they will be met and transported from the Charlotte International Airport to the campus. As part of their orientation program, Appalachian will first explain what is needed to succeed in their studies at Appalachian. Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice Rector said: “Appalachian is one of the top ten universities in the south-eastern region of the USA. You are luckier than the American students there because your admission process will be easier”.

 

Professor Jesse Lutabingwa, ASU Vice-Rector, gave a brief introduction about Appalachian. Many excellent opportunities in both studying and extracurricular activities are offered to students. “And you will pay only 50% of the normal tuition fee to study at Appalachian”, he said.

 

Schedule:

 

·    Year 1, 2: In Duy Tân University, students study English, general courses and some basic professional courses

·   Year 3, 4: In Appalachian State University, students finish the program and get Bachelor Degrees from Appalachian State University

Application requirements:

 

·    Graduating High School with average point for 12th grade is equal or greater than 6.0

·    Acheiving  the minimum scores set by Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training in the nationwide university entrance exam (in blocks A, A1, B, C, and D)

·    Having good English skills

·    Notarised copy of the result of the nationwide university entrance exam

·    Notarised copy of Birth Certificate

·    Notarised copy of High School Graduation Certificate or Provisional High School Graduation Certificate
